Mental Health Therapy

Therapy is for you if you desire…

  • To understand the patterns that keep repeating and gently interrupt them.

  • To create a sense of safety from within instead of looking for an external source.

  • To tend to the ache beneath the surface — the grief, fear, or longing that’s asking to be met.

  • To feel at home in your own body and no longer disconnect or in remain in “survival mode”.

  • To learn how to self-soothe and reparent the parts of you that did not feel safe and had needs that were neglected.

  • To remember that healing is not about fixing yourself — it’s about returning to the wholeness you’ve always been and loving all parts of yourself.

My therapeutic approach integrates a blend of evidence-based modalities to offer a (whole)istic presences towards having a greater self-understanding, emotional regulation and embodiment.

When I first started therapy with Kyla, I felt lost, miserable and disconnected from who I was, and I didn’t understand why. Working with her has truly changed my life. She helped me uncover the roots of my struggles and introduced me to tools and perspectives that have reshaped how I understand and care for myself. She has helped guide me into the deeper layers of healing, exploring my inner child, facing parts of myself I had long been ashamed of, and learning to meet them with compassion instead of criticism. Her calm grounded and non-judgmental presence created a safe and supportive space to explore and express myself freely.

Over time, through messy, imperfect consistency and not giving up on myself, I’ve gone from feeling lost and miserable to feeling more hopeful, balanced and empowered. I’m deeply grateful for the support Kyla’s provided in helping me reconnect with my true self; not the version I thought I had to be, but the one I was always meant to be.

Somatic Therapy - a body-centered approach to mental health that supports healing through awareness of sensation(s), movement, and nervous system regulation; helping you develop a relationship with your body to restore balance and emotional well-being.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) - helps the brain and body reprocess difficult memories reducing the emotional reactivity so they do not feel so “charged”. This is done by engaging both hemispheres of the brain allowing you to integrate past experiences with more clarity, emotional regulation, and self-compassion.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) - views the mind as a system of “parts”, each “part” with its own role and story. Through a gentle sense of curiosity and compassion, we slowly start to integrate these “parts” so you can experience more clarity, balance, and self-trust.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) - focuses on the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. We will identify unhelpful patterns and begin to replace them with more supportive ways of thinking and responding so you can relate to yourself and others with a sense of empowerment.

Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) - helps you identify and challenge the beliefs (often the “shoulds” and “musts”) that create emotional distress. We will explore these beliefs and reframe them to create a more balanced and compassionate way of seeing yourself and the world.

Motivational Interviewing - is a collaborative, client-centered approach that helps you explore your own motivations to make meaningful change with compassion and clarity. We uncover your strengths, and support you in taking empowered, self-directed steps toward the life you want.

Attachment-Based Therapy - we explore how early relationship patterns shape the way you connect, communicate, and feel in your life today, by bringing awareness to these old patterns. We can begin to heal old wounds and strengthen your ability to build secure, authentic and healthy connection with yourself and others.

Psychodynamic Approach - helps you uncover the unconsciousness that may have been shaped from past experiences influencing current thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Through insight and reflection, we can understand the unconscious stories that drive reactions, relationship patterns, and self-perception.

Narrative Therapy Approach - we explore the narratives that have shaped your identity, your relationships, and your experiences and gently rewrite those that no longer serve you. We develop narratives that highlight your strengths, values, and agency as you step into a more empowered version of your life.

Therapeutic Modalities:

I cannot recommend my therapist, Kyla Suarez, highly enough. Kyla has guided me to the most tender and complex layers of my inner life with a gentleness and clarity that never waver. She holds a steady vision of my purest, highest, most golden self, showing me not only that it exists but that it is truly mine. She speaks to the damaged parts of me with such compassion and respect that I feel safe enough to grow toward that golden potential. The way Kyla integrates EMDR seamlessly into our conversations and my healing process has been incredibly effective. It has never felt like a technique performed on me, but rather an organic part of the journey, something that allows me to reach my feelings in a way that feels natural, empowering, and frankly, magical.Kyla has led me through the tangled mess inside my head with completely loving gentleness, while also grounding the work with absolute skill and creating a sense of real security for me. Working with her has been transformative. I will forever be deeply grateful for the compassion, insight, and unwavering presence she has offered me, and I recommend her with my whole heart.
